Breast Reduction

Relief and Balance Through Breast Reduction

Alleviate discomfort and restore proportion with surgical precision

Overly large breasts can cause more than cosmetic concerns—they often lead to chronic pain, limited mobility, and emotional discomfort. Many women with macromastia experience neck and back pain, shoulder grooving from bra straps, skin irritation beneath the breasts, and difficulty with physical activity. These issues can worsen with age, weight changes, or after pregnancy and breastfeeding.

At Allure Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery, Dr. Percy Lo performs breast reduction surgery to alleviate these physical burdens while reshaping the breasts to better suit your frame. The result is improved comfort, posture, and confidence—with a more natural and balanced appearance.

How Breast Reduction Surgery Works

Reduce, reshape, and lift the breasts for comfort and proportion

Breast reduction surgery, or reduction mammoplasty, removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to reduce the size and weight of the breasts. The procedure typically includes:

  • Lifting and reshaping the breast mound

  • Repositioning the nipples and areolae to a more centered, forward-facing position

  • Improving symmetry between breasts

  • Addressing sagging with a built-in breast lift

In some cases, liposuction may also be used to contour the outer chest and sides for a smoother, more defined shape.

Benefits include:

  • Relief from neck, back, and shoulder pain

  • Elimination of bra strap grooves and skin irritation

  • Improved breast shape and proportion

  • Increased ability to exercise and enjoy physical activity

  • Better fit in clothing and undergarments

Is Breast Reduction Right for You?

Candidacy based on comfort, proportion, and health

You may be a strong candidate for breast reduction if you:

  • Have persistent physical discomfort due to heavy breasts

  • Experience rashes or skin breakdown beneath the breasts

  • Avoid certain activities or clothing due to breast size

  • Feel self-conscious about breast disproportion

  • Are in good general health and have realistic expectations

During your consultation, Dr. Lo will review your medical history, discuss your goals, and recommend a surgical plan that aligns with your needs. Patients should be at or near a stable weight before surgery for the best results.

What to Expect Before, During, and After Surgery

Comfortable care and guided recovery every step of the way

Breast reduction is an outpatient procedure performed under general anesthesia. Surgery typically lasts about 3–4 hours, depending on the degree of correction.

After surgery, you’ll wear a supportive surgical bra, and Dr. Lo will provide complete recovery instructions. Most patients experience:

  • Moderate swelling, soreness, and bruising during the first week

  • Drainage tubes (in some cases) that are removed at a follow-up visit

  • Return to light activity within 7–10 days

  • Full recovery within 4–6 weeks, with final results continuing to improve as swelling subsides

You should avoid heavy lifting, upper body exercise, or sleeping on your stomach until cleared by Dr. Lo.

A Lighter, More Confident You

Experience both physical relief and aesthetic improvement

Breast reduction is more than a cosmetic procedure—it’s a life-enhancing transformation. From easing pain to improving how your body moves, it helps patients feel lighter, more confident, and free to wear the clothes and live the lifestyle they choose.
